Did you know the program that lets you tweak the boot screen animation in Windows 7 is called the boot updater? I'm using Windows 7 on my older laptop, but both the original and updated versions didn't work. The first image shows the original version, and the second one represents the updated one.

It’s best not to make that change since it alters system files. Upgrading to Windows 10 is recommended, as support for Windows 7 stopped in 2020.

Recommend skipping operating systems with multiple versions older than your device. They may install, but performance will likely be poor.

It doesn't need to be a problem. My laptop originally came with Windows 7 but ran smoothly on Windows 8.1. Now it's running Windows 10 without any issues. If the hardware is solid, upgrading to a still-supported version makes sense.

I'm taking this as a nostalgic effort, since he mentioned that. Here are some key points:
- I'm thinking this is mainly for experimenting with Windows 7, not for regular internet use or daily tasks. Security and end-of-life systems aren't on the agenda.
- Check various software versions and their claimed Windows support to see how they match your system.
- See if the documentation includes troubleshooting tips, as in the past with Windows 7 projects.

This could have been accurate when Vista was released, but it doesn't apply now. I'm using Windows 11 on an old laptop, and it performs better than Vista did.

It seems like you're facing issues with older hardware when running newer operating systems. Despite that, your main tasks are focused on CAD and DMX emulation.

I've moved past Windows 10 and newer. My older machine struggles with it. Windows 7 works so well and starts quickly—it feels great. But that's just my backup unit; I only use it for some tech work, coding, or watching videos. That's true when you have a high-end A-spec machine with an SSD and plenty of RAM. The difference is noticeable—slower and heavier compared to 7. The "a bit slower" part gets even worse with a hard drive and more RAM. I respect someone who knows how to push older hardware to its limits. Windows 11 might run fine on a 12-year-old PC, but definitely better than 7. I get it, just don't underestimate the impact of outdated specs.
