The only issue arises when asking staff to log into their laptops using their work email. Microsoft anticipates receiving an email from Microsoft, while our email service isn't part of the Microsoft ecosystem... In any case, the distinction between Home and Pro versions appears to be the main concern. The devices that prompted us to set up a Microsoft account were Home editions, and even when we upgraded from Home 10 to 11, it wasn't required unless we performed a full reinstall.
