Windows 11 alters my background to black and strips away the wallpaper.
Hello everyone, a peculiar problem has been affecting me recently. My PC runs smoothly with normal temperatures, but when I open my desktop background, it keeps disappearing and turning into black. It begins by darkening the area behind one of my icons, and refreshing it makes everything go completely black. Restarting Explorer via Task Manager works without issues, yet this is still a hassle every day. Someone could suggest possible solutions? I also tried setting my RTX 4070 Super to full performance in the control panel, but I’m not sure that will help since I suspect the issue lies with explorer.exe itself.
Absolutely, you're curious about the cause. Yes, it can be triggered via PowerShell. Are there other ways to address this issue?
Yes, it does. I've experienced no problems with it since I first enabled it—everything functions flawlessly. The only minor concern was the background issue.
I also confirmed the Windows 11 version by downloading and installing it directly from the official Microsoft website.
Create a new local user and log in to check if the problem continues there. This often helps fix many "just reinstall Windows again" issues... If not, run DDU to reinstall graphics card drivers from scratch. Be careful—using unofficial activation scripts means you should be cautious.
Thank you for the idea—this was also tried and I’ve restarted. Unfortunately, it occurs infrequently and no clear cause appears. I’ll keep an eye on it and will update you with positive or negative results.
