It's a curious issue but the background image you've chosen remains at the same spot unless you change its location. I've seen this happen before when files were moved or deleted, and it was confirmed in a Reddit discussion about Windows 11. Prior to updates, Windows would create a duplicate of the image for use as a background, but now that's not the case.

Oh God... you're right maybe. It seems I can't locate the image anywhere on my PC, and I even forgot where it was saved. But when I opened the personalization window, it was set to a solid color. I'm going to save a new image now that's stored in my folders and check if it works. This might actually be the right one.

I can confirm this experience. I changed my desktop wallpaper to an image saved on the C drive, then transferred it to a larger D drive. Following the same steps as the original poster, the background turned black. After searching for the file in the D drive and restoring the desktop picture, the issue disappeared. Note: My system has genuine Windows 11 activation with no graphics problems.

Absolutely, this operating system has many serious issues. Unfortunately, I also use my PC, and this program isn't compatible with any other platform. Trying to switch between systems would be really complicated, which is why I wouldn't bother using it at all.
