I was recently looking for Windows 10 Pro retail for my upcoming build and it seems there's actually 3 release dates! DVD Box: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/11...10_64.html - August 16th Flash Drive - http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Windows-...10+Pro+DVD - August 30th OEM System Builder - http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Windows-...10+Pro+DVD - August 5th So, why all the different release dates? Kinda curious what the flash drive packaging looks like, but I'm more likely buying it the old fashioned way on optical media "I like retail packaging" and I think it'll have the best unless the dvd and flash drive have the same packaging.

That price seems really high—why would a USB stick cost that much? Windows 10 Pro is actually around $149.99, not $199.99.

It doesn't really matter which format you choose since the cost remains the same. $199 seems reasonable, especially when contrasted with OS X prices of around $30 per upgrade. Back then, purchasing it on DVD was about $99!

Win 10 Pro is only $150—really a deal. I was hoping for around $200, like with the flash drive. The drive seems too expensive unless it's a 64GB model you can repurpose. It probably works well as a conversation starter.

In the standard Win10 Home edition, the USB flash version is priced identically to the online product key download.

OS X is available for free, but it’s only accessible on a Mac.

All the various launch timings are likely intended to enable media production.

It might show a stylish glowing Windows icon for an activity LED. But adding it still feels like an unnecessary cost on top of the costly operating system.

OS X is now entirely free. You can erase your mac and get a fresh copy of the newest update from Apple using recovery mode—though I’ve had my share of troubles with triple booting OS X and Linux multiple times. Yes, back in the Snow Leopard era it cost around $30 to $40.

The price is $200... But since I'm a student, it's just $10. I only pay the tax, lol.
