I’ve secured my Windows 10 installation, but I’m uncertain about its compatibility with all the games I enjoy—especially CS:GO and TF2. I’m hoping it will work for those titles, but only temporarily until my purchase and hardware arrive from Amazon. I’m also curious if Windows 10 will perform better with less background processing, making it smoother overall. Additionally, I noticed that Windows 8 caused many systems to struggle; will Windows 10 be more efficient and less demanding?

Current titles would face no issues operating on Windows 10.

New titles will shine much more because DX12 ensures compatibility across systems.
Legacy titles remain fully functional since DX is key to maintaining backward and forward support for PC games.

I question the claim that the W8 is slowing down computers, unless they were outdated wxp machines from earlier times. The upgrade from W7 to W8 was a significant advancement, and it seems unlikely they’ll compromise that progress.

We're still unsure, but Microsoft has been pushing last-minute updates for current Win10 systems all day. Probably safe to say you should be okay gaming. Once games fully support it, DX12 will become significant too. 2. Win10 is built to work on nearly anything. If Microsoft's claims hold, you should be able to run it on almost anything except a toaster.

we all understand the source engine relies on DX12... *cough* it would be nice if they updated DX12 in their older titles. not that they require it, but someone will likely seek 1200fps in CS:GO...

The technical preview was definitely a significant improvement over Windows 8.1 on my tablet, which is impressive. Regarding games, recent titles should function well, and older ones should work as long as compatibility mode is turned on.

Sure thing, buddy. Just to make sure: you want me to repeat what you said? Thanks, DX12. Yeah, I understand. I was just wondering if you meant to upgrade your laptop tomorrow—specifically the Intel i3 3110m with 6GB RAM.
