Absolutely excited! If it performs well on a tablet, it’ll be no problem at all. I’m planning to use a Pentium G3258 with an OC setup and 8GB of 2400MHz RAM, which should keep me in good shape (just getting paid at the end of the month). Looks promising!

It's probable the operating system won't surpass 8.1 in performance, though its initial speed was acceptable. DirectX 12 could offer some relative improvements once games built for it become available, but we might not have DX11 or Windows 8.1 versions to evaluate.

If they resolve the Nvidia driver problems, it could have meant going back to version 8.1 due to the issues!

Based on my recent use of Windows 10, it seems to be improving. The main issue lies with third-party software like Nvidia and AMD, which often deliver poor drivers. Switching to Windows 10 has boosted my gaming experience, though Nvidia's recent driver updates have dropped performance and even caused DX errors. They're working on fixes, but the next release is coming soon. For gaming, Windows 10 outperforms Windows 8. Nvidia's performance issues are noticeable, but they're making progress. I haven't tested AMD drivers since I don't own an AMD card.

It's not only about AMD and Nvidia. The real issue lies in Microsoft pushing driver updates via Windows Update, leaving consumers with no choice but to accept them. I faced a comparable problem with Intel Graphic Drivers on my tablet during the Technical Preview, which caused a blue screen, forced an OS update, and repeatedly tried to stop the driver from re-downloading itself.

MS introduced a feature enabling you to decline specific updates. It appears designed to prevent immediate NVidia updates from being pushed, resolving the problems you've faced recently. This has been quite frustrating for me lately, as updates can no longer be disabled through GPO settings or registry changes.

Early users often struggle with performance. I expect tomorrow several platforms will publish their assessments, highlighting issues similar to previous updates—like every Windows release claiming better gaming speeds in XP or Windows 2000, which we already know isn't accurate.
