I purchased this laptop because it was priced at $180 at Target. Windows 10 is showing its true limitations. I had to rely on a flash drive since the SSD only has 32GB of space and couldn’t handle an update. All my efforts were wasted when the system asked to restart, but it would freeze at 0% for over an hour before dropping to 1%. Eventually, I decided to switch to a fresh OS from Microsoft’s website and transferred it onto another flash drive. Installing it was a nightmare—once I reached the setup screen, it kept looping endlessly. I was stuck there for more than four hours. I finally gave up and installed Windows 7 instead. The installation was quick, around 15 minutes compared to over an hour for Windows 10. It seems the drivers for this laptop work perfectly with Windows 7. The only remaining task is to upgrade it to an HDD since the 32GB won’t support all the necessary updates.
He means exactly that. The laptop is likely too weak to handle Windows 10 smoothly; it actually runs Windows 7 because (and I’m feeling a bit old-fashioned) Windows 7 was just nine years old when Minecraft was still in the works, Apple launched the iPod Touch 3G, Samsung introduced its first Galaxy, and Sony released the PSP Go. It’s quite outdated, and running it on such modest hardware isn’t surprising at all.
AMD Dual-Core E2-9000e features a base frequency of 1.5 GHz with up to 2 GHz bursts, paired with 1 MB cache. It runs on a 32 GB eMMC SSD and a 14-inch HD SVA BrightView WLED-backlit display. The system includes a 4 GB DDR4-1866 SDRAM module and a 180 USD price tag—likely the main factor in its selection.
If your on older hardware like that, why use WIn10 anyway? Just stick with W7 x64 and enjoy Sub-1GB Memory usage on Boot. It shouldn't have come with W10 ever.... There is an APP available for everything pretty much.. you don't need Win10 on that Laptop,... unless chasing DirectX-12 Gaming, which your laptop isn't, Use Win7, Optimize it via some guides,.. it'll be PLENTY for Typical Office situation daily driver tasks, such as office/web/video works.
Windows 10 functions well on 32GB storage, I've experienced that before. After installation, only a few gigabytes remain, primarily reserved for updates. The operating system requires just a 1GHz processor, so even a basic PC should handle it. Many recent "budget" laptops include a removable 32 to 64GB eMMC drive. This machine is designed for light browsing and office tasks, positioned as a Chromebook alternative.
