I just set up the newest Windows 10 version (Insider preview). After restarting and finishing the installation, I got a message saying Windows removed CPUID and then took me to a web page. That’s strange. The app functions properly now, but if it doesn’t, fixing it seems like my responsibility. Plus, the update also wiped all my app settings. Did anyone else run into this problem? The site redirected to: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...atible-app

Is there a recent report to accompany this? If not, please move it to the forum's OS area instead of the news section. While I recognize this could be major if confirmed, it still requires verification and confirmation.

I'm just sharing what I saw. The report comes from me using this screen capture. I thought about moving it elsewhere, but it looks much larger here.

Might indicate an issue because it's an internal source.

I agree with the Insider preview regarding the trade-off of certain rights. This situation feels unrealistic and raises concerns given the latest changes to the EULA allowing removal of the software.

Unfortunately, I don't think so. It seems the original pop-up wasn't captured, but it's evident from Windows 10 that the app 'CPUID' was removed because of compatibility problems. The alert showed up at the bottom right and said the app had been uninstalled. Clicking it led to the page mentioned earlier.

I question if they plan to include this function in the complete release.
