Hi, I have an ASUS ROG laptop with a GTX 1050 and Windows 10. The GPU apps keep crashing whenever I try to open them. Games in my Steam library become unresponsive, and even basic tasks like capturing screens or opening browsers stop working. The NVIDIA control panel crashes when I click "adjust settings with preview." It seems the problem might be with the GPU drivers. Let me know if you need guidance. Cheers.

Check if you have the newest NVIDIA driver installed. Consider removing the current driver and setting up the most recent one before turning off and back on your system.

I think I’m using the latest version, but I’ll attempt to reinstall it.

After fully removing the driver, the system functioned properly with Intel integrated graphics. However, when the drivers were reinstalled, performance ceased once again.

It was only one specific case that caused the issue, not all of them.

Tools that leverage the GPU include OBS, XSplit, certain Steam titles, NVIDIA control panel, and similar applications.

Consider updating to newer versions. It could be a problem with the latest drivers.

Only regular users, not those with heavy NVIDIA projects. Also, consider lowering the GPU speed slightly with MSI Afterburner.

Download Furmark and attempt its stress test. Should it fail, proceed to download the Video memory stress test (available for both DOS and Windows). Run it and check for any errors. This approach could indicate a PSU problem.
