Agreed, ChromeOS seems quite underestimated for such older or weaker systems, or even for someone needing basic tasks like browsing Facebook and checking emails. Strongly suggest trying it out.

It will set up just enough to function. I checked the incorrect CPU model, and Windows 10 should still work.

For this setup, you need to get an SSD only. RAM won’t help much, and the CPU isn’t great. Go with an SSD paired with ChromeOS or a simple Linux distribution. That’s it—or consider buying a new machine.
