I recently switched from Windows 10 to 11 and I am now limited to 20 megabits sometimes even less than that. I tried resetting all the network settings back to the router's original ones and turned off any power saving features. I also used a speed optimizer set to maximum and disabled IPv6, but none of those changes helped.

I got an MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge with WiFi, a Ryzen 5 3600 processor, and 16GB of RAM. I also have two storage drives: a 1TB Seagate SSD and another 1TB HDD from Adata. And I bought a GTX 1080 Ti graphics card for the computer.

Every single driver that is being used right now comes from Windows updates, or it's on the motherboard driver support page.

Open the Command Prompt, then type "ipconfig /all" without using quotes to see all your network settings. Paste the results below.

Did you put them back together after upgrading to Windows 11 or not?

Yeah, I tried that too and it didn't work at all. The Windows IP Configuration shows my computer name as DESKTOP-KE79J6T. My primary domain is Node Type Hybrid. IP Routing is on but WINS Proxy isn't enabled. The Ethernet adapter says Connection-specific DNS Suffix is empty. Description tells me I have a Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller with physical address 2C-F0-5D-8C-D3-F5. DHCP is turned on and autoconfiguration is also yes. Link-local IPv6 Address starts with fe80::7767:cc79:27b:8515%. The IPv4 Address is 192.168.0.233, subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, and the lease was obtained on Saturday at 4:32 PM. It expires at 6:32 PM the same day. Default Gateway points to 192.168.0.1. DHCP Server also reports as 192.168.0.1. There is a DHCPv6 IAID of 137162845 and DUID of 00-01-00-01-2D-23-2D-4C-2C-F0-5D-8C-D3-F5. DNS Servers listed as 192.168.0.1, NetBIOS over Tcpip is enabled. For the Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi, media state shows disconnected, so I'm not connected yet. Connection-specific DNS Suffix is still empty here too. Description says it's Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 with address 38-68-93-5B-39-7F. DHCP and autoconfiguration are both yes for that one too. Local Area Connection* 1 shows the same problem: media disconnected, empty DNS suffix, description says Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter, address is 38-68-93-5B-39-80, DHCP and autoconfiguration are yes again. For Local Area Connection* 10, same thing happens: media disconnected, no DNS info, another Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter with address 3A-68-93-5B-39-7F, and settings are the same. Bluetooth Network Connection also says media is disconnected, description identifies it as a Bluetooth Device in a Personal Area Network, address is 38-68-93-5B-39-83, DHCP and autoconfiguration both yes for that last one too.

Going back a little bit.... I used TCP optimizer to get my speed up, but now I have disabled or removed it. Probably not doing much good at all. = = = = From the command "ipconfig /all": Your router's IP address is 192.168.0.1 and the PC gets a DHCP IP of 192.168.0.233. This isn't a problem, so you can probably leave it alone. Subnet masking looks okay - expected 255.255.255.0 There is only one network adapter turned on and wired. You should have just one active adapter, which is fine. Description . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller Physical Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 2C-F0-5D-8C-D3-F5 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Lease time: The lease time is just two hours. Technically this shouldn't matter much, but changing it to the maximum allowed could help. Who has full admin rights on the router? You might need that person's help for that. IPv6 - tricky for many things so disabling it is common advice. You said you disabled it before, but now it's enabled again. DNS: Change the DNS servers to use Google using 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 Make changes one at a time and wait about a reboot or two between each try. Keep notes on what changed where along with old values and new values. Hopefully, speed will get better and stay steady. = = = = FYI: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/window...s/ipconfig There are other commands and tools that can help fix network issues - "ipconfig /all" is just one of them.

I had complete control over the router, so I changed a few settings there. But after trying everything, nothing fixed the problem.
