I need to find an affordable PCI-E Wi-Fi card that offers good performance without breaking the bank.

Is it a gaming PC? You usually don’t need a Wi-Fi card because unstable connections often cause lag, and Ethernet provides a more stable link. A wired connection is ten times more reliable, and if your system already has one built in, there’s no point in adding another.

In the upcoming episode of Dr. Macintosh, he recommends upgrading to an RTX 2080 Ti with a water cooler and a fresh power supply to improve his connection with the Ryzen 7 3800X.

This computer will be positioned close to your TV in the living room. The Wi-Fi is located in the master bedroom, so that's settled.

I favor the link at https://amzn.to/2yhj0BR because it features a contemporary M.2 slot that can be swapped with an Intel AX200 for cutting-edge WiFi capabilities. The Gigabyte model relies on an outdated miniPCIe card, which is largely unsupported now, meaning you won’t find a more suitable option beyond what’s included, often making upgrades more costly later.

I agree with that, though I use Fenvi's FV-102 (similar concept, M.2 to PCIe) which I purchase from their AliExpress shop. They also have a store on Amazon, but their AliExpress site is more structured. Their shipping costs to my country are really high unless you're buying something costly. The FV-102 isn't ready to use out of the box; I just buy an M.2 WiFi card like the AX200 from them.

The positive aspect of the ASUS is its external antenna. Most of the inexpensive Chinese adapters I've encountered feature simple antennas.

It's accurate. Fortunately, the FV-102 has detachable antennas, allowing me to replace them with TP-Link 6dBi units purchased from eBay.
