Why is my system performing worse than similar setups on YouTube?
Why is my system performing worse than similar setups on YouTube?
Hey everyone,
I have a curious question. I own a bunch of high-end components:
4080 Super Gainward Super PantherOC,
7800 X3D,
G.Skill 32GB (2x16) Flare X5 AMD EXPO 6000mhz CL30.
But I’m still seeing much lower frame rates than what’s shown on YouTube benchmarks.
For instance, when watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHYOzORhdLc&t=1439s, he gets 280 fps, while I get only 190–210 fps.
Or this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koR0nf7poEY&t=357s, where he has a weaker CPU but better performance.
What could be the reason for this discrepancy?
The initial concern involves using YT videos as a reference for your system. Most of these videos are misleading and shouldn't be relied upon for comparison. There are reliable methods to evaluate and compare systems, but direct comparisons remain challenging without confirming the setup and configurations.
you can't rely on any "Youtube" performance clips.
these are crafted to draw in audiences, so it's just that.
it would be wiser to use benchmarking tools that provide comparisons based on hardware,
but even then you're unsure how many leading options have upgraded their setups to boost their rankings.
We should have a clear warning "YouTube videos might not reflect reality, avoid using them for comparisons"
Games designed for testing could be limited to just creating content. Actions like overclocking may only serve to produce videos.
I believe you should. I talked about this with my friend right after I shared this thread. Youtube is essentially a pool of attention. You're correct.
I would hope if individuals really examined stickies... but time tells me most don't.
Forums likely wouldn't recommend posting anyway. I question how many actually read the suggestions they provide.
Perhaps we could let the front page publish an article about it instead. That way more people might notice.
I would also ensure Resizable BAR is activated in BIOS. Set the Windows game mode option to off for testing. Verify you have the most recent Nvidia Driver installed. Confirm you possess the newest Chipset drivers for your Motherboard/CPU. Turn off any background programs or services. It is suggested to perform a clean boot and then evaluate performance using UNIGINE to confirm no third-party background services are running.
I often reference our stickies, making it simple for others to follow along even if they overlook them.
