Why is Dark Souls 3 so hard?? ?
Why is Dark Souls 3 so hard?? ?
Yikes! I rarely buy games at their full cost (except when they’re brand new and I’m super into them). I’m aware they often run promotions.
When you spot him swinging the weapon, roll into his feet and attempt to get behind him or shield yourself if you're playing as a knight. Focus on quick hits—three is likely too many. Play cautiously and wear it down gradually. Your invulnerability means you should always roll when an attack approaches. Watch YouTube for tips on obtaining the butchers knife, which restores health per hit. Begin with Life Ring as a gift, invest in health until you reach level 25 or 30, then boost stamina to level 20. Start your damage early by acquiring the Deep Axe (206 physical + dark damage). Farm Titanite shards (12) to maximize their damage potential early on. There’s an easy soul farming method at the first bonfire in Lothric—grind 800 souls every two minutes to gain a head start.
The game feels fun, and defeating the bosses is often super simple.
Initially, hold off until you require close-quarters fighting. The knight class begins with stronger stats in dexterity and strength, enabling better weapon handling early on and increasing damage output through scaling. It serves as the optimal starting class for dks3 due to its balanced stats and superior armor. Early game Lothric feels almost basic, relying mainly on a straight sword or the deep battle axe available for beginners.
I'm just experiencing a really tough session with Judex Gundyr and the Knight. I managed to defeat him before, but then I mistakenly targeted Hawkwood—the Deserter in the Firelink Shrine—and now he always attacks me right after I log in. I had to restart because I realized I shouldn't fight him until later.
The main guideline here is to stay patient. The second point is to study the bosses' patterns, as each one will reveal a moment to exploit after an attack or combo. #3 focuses on your own timing—once you adopt this approach, you’ll understand that Soul Games are about careful play and learning instead of relying on brute force.
I’ve practiced mastering Iudex Gundyr’s strategies and managed to defeat him with both the Pyromancer and the Sorcerer. Now I’m focused on playing as the Knight, having beaten him at least 50 times but still struggling. It looks like he randomly attacks whenever I get close, then hits me again after I’m already down—often dropping my health to just a few percent after a combo. Or he might grab me and deliver a powerful blow through my chest.
It was noted earlier that you remained strong for several frames during rolling, which is a crucial mechanic. Focus on dodging, blocking, rolling, and to some extent parrying are essential. Mastering timing is key. Being overly aggressive with attacks often leads to trouble, so aim for two or three hits before retreating.
It's surprising how much you can handle while rolling. Do you know if using the shield for defense or swinging it left works better? Up until now, I've just been going in for a few hits and coming out to dodge, trying to jump back or dash when I need to heal. The toughest part is when it feels like I can't escape—his character model is so large that I can't see my own character clearly.
Errr can I really tackle all this before Iudex? He’s at the start, and I don’t know where to find stats or grab a butcher’s axe. Plus, I just got this game during the Lunar New Year discount when it was $14.99 instead of the usual $59.99, so I’m not sure what all the talking about means. The only thing I’ve seen before Iudex is 5x Firebombs (which I accidentally threw away while trying to play with a PS4 controller instead of a mouse). It seems I have to spend time in the options menu, pick the Firebomb, and then click “use” to throw one. I’d love to just press the right trigger so my character throws it automatically, rather than spending 2-3 seconds choosing it manually. Those seconds feel like a waste during a tough battle.
