Why a new metro is so challenging?
Why a new metro is so challenging?
I won't upgrade my 1080 TI anytime soon, planning to wait for the next Nvidia or AMD cards. Could you share which configurations work best for achieving 60fps in 4K on Metro Exodus? I noticed on YouTube that pushing maximum settings usually yields around 36-40fps at most with an extreme preset. What about using the ULTRA preset and DX11?
I'm very likely that your CPU is outdated. Fortnite should run smoothly in 4K because its graphics requirements aren't too high. Also, it's not fair to compare games this way. Different game engines perform differently on any system. Older CPUs are less efficient—they process fewer operations per clock cycle than modern ones, so even if they're overclocked, they'll still lag behind for demanding games like this. Performance may improve slightly over time as drivers get better, but the older CPU will continue to be a limitation.
I understand that at 4k ultra I feel around the 60s with DX 11 and 12 outside, and on high I’m in the 90s with a 2080 ti. With a 1080 ti I’d likely play at 4k high. The game is a bit challenging due to the big differences in frame rate between inside and outside. I’m considering playing at 1440p with high ray tracing or 1440 ultrawide without it. I’ll find out soon.
