No need to attack me lol. You are right with what you said. Im just delivering the news I got. I never said WIn 10 will end up being 50 or 60GB OS ,, Just that you need 32GB free to install the May update. But I understand it will go on top of the existing OS so it wont really take up 32GB and what not.
I'm not worried, but people who bought one of those really cheap 10" tablet-style laptops have reason for concern. The amount of those things that have a mere 32GB of eMMC storage is staggering. And part of that 32GB is used by the recovery partition adding even more fun to the whole thing. As for 120GB SSD's, unless it's filled to the brim with applications chances are you can do a bit of house cleaning beforehand, move the location of documents and such to another drive, and have plenty of space for the upgrade.
It's mainly about the space needs; Windows requires 32GB free, yet it doesn't use that much. This also signals Microsoft's decision to phase out OEMs that offer systems with extremely low storage capacity, which are often insufficient.
Looks like I'll need a lot of virtual machines, all struggling with just 32GB storage...
