I saw this mentioned by Microsoft too, stating the 1903 May update needs 32GB of free space. It’s frustrating for those with 120GB SSDs that already have the OS and apps installed. I don’t understand how losing 32GB would be such a big deal.

Keep it simple, just use less data on the SSD or upgrade to a 250GB model now.

Not upset. Plenty of room.

I'm glad I have space, though I still think MS is impaired. Let's get a good update.

Running on a 240GB SSD with only 50GB free space seems fine now, but it might become an issue later. It's wise to maintain some extra space for performance and future needs. Also, this setup could affect new installations—like requiring a 64GB boot drive.

It seems I’m not familiar with what MS is currently doing. Let’s check the exact space usage once the update is applied.

You didn’t check the update notes, did you? The change will require 32GB of storage on Windows 10 64-bit. That means your system will now need 32GB right away. The update itself doesn’t need that much space.

No? A 120GB SSD is more than sufficient for Windows. I have 85GB available with Windows 10/Steam/Origin/Chrome/GPU Drivers installed on the SSD.

This 32GB will mainly handle moving data and temporary files. If the update actually provides 32GB for the Windows OS, it's time for Microsoft to retire its outdated Windows framework.
