The change from 3600 cl18 to 3600 cl16 is unlikely to be significant overall. If the price gap is substantial, you might prefer the 3600 cl18 kit.

I might have misunderstood, but I swear I've come across info on single rank 16 GB dimm's I can't locate at the moment. Still, the technology exists (32 GB DIMM's), and it works. I've never noticed multiple ranks boosting performance, though. In my experience with DDR3, adding more ranks usually reduces speed a bit.
