Can't afford a 2x32gb setup right now and even if dual-rank kits exist they're not dual-rank so I'd lose some speed. Apart from that, I don't think I need 128gb just yet—I'm still figuring out if 64gb will suffice after all I might invest time into this but who knows how far technology will go? Regarding scene sizes, until I can create a virtual environment you can explore, most would be single rooms. I'd also like to keep things realistic xD Thanks for your help!

I started with two sticks but a change in manufacturing in December last year made all 16GB units single-rank instead of dual-rank, which slightly affects performance. Besides that, considering my investment in this PC, DDR5 is expected to be expensive and possibly unreliable for the first year, so I decided to take what I could now. Also, 16GB is mainly suited for gaming, while 32GB or more is better for most professional tasks. Although 32GB seems ideal for modern games and background apps, 16GB should suffice if you play current titles and run other programs simultaneously. Thanks!

Accidentally mentioned that the 32GB dimming is a single rank. I understand there are 16GB dimmers too, though I’m not sure about the 32GB ones. Sorry for the confusion.

I often hear this too, and perhaps it’s true—but they’ve already launched DDR5 RAM (for some reason or purpose?), and it wasn’t that costly at all. It wasn’t the cheapest either, more like in the middle compared to DDR4. I guess around 400 for 32GB? Well, depending on the situation, I’d definitely hold off—if that’s an option.

Currently, no manufacturer is providing consumer-grade DDR5 sockets from either AMD or Intel.

Teamgroup. Two months back. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.pcgamer...-sold-out/ It was even less expensive, just 311 dollars... (my ddr4 wasn't cheaper and it was the most affordable I found) But, you might be correct about the speed... 40-40-40-77" Although I think it's typical for faster or newer RAM to use looser timings. Ps: but honestly my concern is more about doubting these kinds of forecasts. Right now things are moving fast, and this stuff is likely to sell out quickly, becoming standard almost immediately!

Unless you're working on genetics, you probably shouldn't be spending money unnecessarily. I believe in most situations more is better, though this one might need it later—by then your processor and memory will likely handle the extra RAM efficiently.

Someone observed the audio glitching. It seems unrelated to my setup. Likely connected to Single Rank Modules. One specific model?

Only single-rank units are available, with several brands present. There’s no issue with sound skipping, though YouTube experienced some problems recently. I had to deal with my kids getting upset.
