blur on pc was okay with the beta, but the release version felt different. I found it less engaging after the changes, even though the idea was still solid. It’s common for me to enjoy the beta more and dislike the final version because of those adjustments.

This brought to mind the Tommi Mäkinen Rally (also known as International Rally Championships), alongside Stunts and Death Rally, which are some of the earliest racing games I've experienced. Among the older titles, Need for Speed 2 and the original Colin McRae Rally were the ones I played most frequently. More recently, FöatOut: UG has surpassed Need for Speed Shift and Dirt 3 in my experience.

Stunts was really impressive and definitely stood out for me. I also had a lot of experience with Ironman (Offroad Racing) growing up, but I never managed to complete the race—there was an issue with one of the tracks that caused laps to skip and ended my position last. I kept trying to win so I could keep going, but eventually I stopped checking if the lap counted, which made it even harder. Still, it was entertaining. I also enjoyed playing the original Death Rally. It was brief but still great. Spending a lot of time on Need for Speed 3 was fun; constantly evading the police on the same course kept me engaged. Also, the 4.1 audio quality back then made hearing the cops disappear behind you a big part of the experience. I just hope Gran Turismo gets released for PC soon.

It's Need For Speed: High Stake (NFS 4). Ideal selection of vehicles, balancing simulation and arcade perfectly, with a solid damage system, police pursuit sequences, and two players on one machine. The thousands of hours my sister and I invested chasing each other or trying to beat them... Plus the outstanding soundtrack, possibly the best in racing games ever made. Hearing those tracks instantly takes me back to my childhood, dreaming of the Ferrari F50. None of the other racing titles matched that enchantment.
