It looked like Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed needed minimal hardware back then. The second place was Colin McRae rally 2, followed by stunts in third. Are newer games more advanced given their age and requirements? For this title, I meant 3D rendering rather than just software speed.
Absolutely. Creating your own tracks is amazing—truly the best! We’re really old, though 😄
Stunts is really great, my 3rd, but the graphics are too outdated for me. I wish there were at least 16-bit colors.
I retain physical versions of many early NFS titles, yet my cherished recollections are tied to the original release. I also enjoyed SODA Off road racing quite often. Today I occasionally play Assetto Corsa, though not with the same intensity as before.
iRacing continues to offer some of the top online gaming experiences available, consistently delivering value since 2008. Assetto Corsa stands out as a top choice in sim racing, backed by a strong modding scene. Richard Burns Rally is widely regarded as one of the best rally games ever made, offering exceptional quality that remains relevant today.
It brings back memories of a classic arcade from my childhood, especially the intense driving experience. I really liked it because it was one of the few car games with a functional clutch pedal. Viper racing on PC was another favorite where the clutch worked properly. I also had another one, though I don’t remember what it was at the time.
It was a fairly specialized project, but the track builder was what really stood out for me. You had full freedom to design whatever you wanted. I plan to try Bounty Drag Racing on Steam and compare it to HotRod's Burnout Drag Racing. Both games were solid too.
