Outside an unopened bottle of distilled water, there isn't any "pure H2O". However, salt water is significantly worse. The issue lies in this: any water that enters can short out the desired quality. All those ports must be properly sealed. An iPad in a closed ziplock works fine, but if you toss any of them into the surf and let it sit for a while...the results are uncertain.

Yes, precisely. Certifying a gadget as "waterproof" would likely involve using the purest water permitted.

In all fairness, I'm used to Android and PC, but I found myself managing an iPad Pro, watch, and iPhone. The watch and phone worked well together and were a smooth transition. The iPad Pro was a bit of a niche choice, and I ended up being "stuck" with it. I had to force myself to use it, which led to a love-hate relationship because of my limited experience with the OS and Apple software—what it can and cannot do.

It's very capable, has a stunning screen, and is quite stable. The more I learn, the more I appreciate it. Not enough to switch over, but I now have a greater respect for the hardware compared to before.

Many makers of tough laptops aim to reach military clients as well, which seems likely to involve salt fog testing for these devices. It's difficult to think someone would concentrate only on a few ruggedization features while ignoring others. If you're exposing the product to extreme conditions but still need to handle it gently due to physical shock risks, then such a device doesn't seem necessary.
