When selecting a GPU to match a non-G Ryzen 5 5500, consider compatibility and performance needs.
I just purchased an MB ASRock 970M Pro3 paired with a Ryzen 5 5500 (the big mistake was not getting the graphics card). This board doesn’t support AM4 processors. You’ll need a B450 chipsetted motherboard and a BIOS update to run it, at least for the processor, but you’ll still require a separate GPU to display anything.
Only AM3/AM3+ chipsets are suitable for that motherboard slot. There are no Ryzen chips that match AM3 or AM3+, since the latter is significantly outdated compared to the Ryzen design. As mentioned by the COL, there are no Ryzen processors fitting this socket on the board.
The AM3/3+ motherboard is compatible with AM4 CPUs through its support for socket AM3+ and AM3 processors. It features a solid capacitor design and accommodates dual-channel DDR3 memory up to 2400 MHz (OC). The system includes multiple expansion slots such as PCIe 2.0 x16, PCIe 2.0 x1, and SATA 3.0 ports, along with USB 3.1 Gen1 and USB 2.0 connections. Additional components like a TPM header and audio codec are also supported.
The GT730 board supports more than just DVI-I only connections and cannot be paired with your monitor.
