What's wrong with Uplay?
It shows I need another tool to start a game. I prefer everything on Steam because it’s simple to open and play. Adding friends is straightforward too. The Uplay offline mode isn’t great—it feels clunky and doesn’t work well. It looks okay but causes some problems. I just wish I didn’t have to install extra programs for the games I want to play.
Steam appears older than Uplay, seems to have been developed a decade prior.
Double DRM is a major source of frustration. They could have released the games on other platforms like Uplay, or they shouldn’t have made Uplay mandatory for purchases. It’s quite clear about that.
A few years back things were different. People really cared, EA addressed it, but Origin's image hasn't fully healed. I'm okay with both Origin and Steam. The number of issues seems similar to what I've experienced over time, whether I had more crashes with Origin games or Steam titles. Steam’s storefront is easier to navigate, and features like Family Sharing and In-Home Streaming are nice extras Origin doesn’t offer.
I see it this way. I prefer not to have games everywhere. That’s why I use Steam. I need a single library where all my games stay in one place with just one login. When I buy something like Far Cry 3, I expect it to work smoothly without needing to switch clients or re-register. This also helps me avoid EA and Ubisoft seeing my money because I don’t plan to buy their games due to this simple concern. I value freedom and don’t want things forced on me.
