Shifted focus to CPUs, motherboards, and memory. Also, the CPU is essentially a 1800X for the X399 platform. Avoid purchasing.

Just because it isn't a powerful CPU, and you have to think about the cost of the motherboard.

Since it runs more slowly, and the motherboard will charge you at least $250 for it (especially now with 8-core processors...). First generation TR versus Third Gen Ryzen. By the way, we went with the 2990wx until we found a R7 3950X – it swapped the TR for better performance. TR is now mainly for servers / shrug

It's a 1800x with TR worth of PCIe lanes. Multicore speed still falls short compared to the 3600, which is the only real advantage. For everyday users, it's significantly less powerful. Plus, the cost is high because the components are much pricier.
