If your profile registry section includes any of these, it will become corrupted and unusable.
A quick fix is to create a new user profile.
In the long term, consider upgrading your HDD to an SSD.
Crucial MX500 500GB 2.5" SATA – a solid choice if you manage to find one.

I set up a new user profile but lost all the complex music system settings. I plan to reinstall temporarily until a new SSD arrives. The thread suggested two ways to avoid this in the future: using my Microsoft account login or another method with a local account and restore point. Which one should I choose for better protection?

Restore points can be created using both a local account and an MS account. There is no real distinction between them.
