What steps are needed to detach the ribbon cable for installing an additional SSD on your laptop?
I'm attempting to add an additional NVMe SSD to my Acer laptop. The process requires removing a ribbon cable, but I'm unsure how to safely detach it from the internet. I've tried gently lifting it and pulling on the cable, but it appears stuck. Also, trying to pull the white part toward the cable hasn't helped.

Success!
It turned out the black part of the connector was a latch, so it had to be flipped up. It's plastic and ridiculously thin and fragile so it doesn't seem like a latch at all. Here it is in the open position:
I just had to pry it open from underneath with a plastic pry tool. It required almost no force.
And here is a picture of the the SSD installed and working:
Thanks again for the help!
It's difficult to determine from the image, but there appears to be a small metal bar. It seems to lift up and function as a clamp. If not, it might be the type you gently push to separate the black and white plastic components. In the picture, it looks like this has partially occurred.
The provided context does not contain any specific details about what this laptop can take a second M.2 drive for. Did you forget to include the relevant documentation or specifications? Once you provide the document, I will be able to determine exactly what it states regarding the laptop's M.2 drive capabilities.
Is there a black band on the left side of the port that moves upward? It seems to function as a kind of lock that presses down to secure the cable.

The M.2 2280 port is easily seen beneath the ribbon cable, with the wire positioned to accommodate it.
The black section on the left remains stationary completely.
