What problems are there with the computer?
I've been having trouble with my mouse feeling all different every single day. My games also feel super slow and shaky at times, and sometimes they work fine while other days they're totally broken and unplayable. Today I realized that only four of my eight pins on the CPU cable were connected. Maybe this was the problem? Sometimes did feel better at first. But now the PC feels totally different every single time I turn it on over these months. So I'll give it a few more days to be sure! I asked just generally if this could cause any problems, but I guess the CPU might have less power, so that's definitely possible.
If you do not know your computer's settings, this is pure guesswork....many "extra" CPU power pins on the motherboard are meant for powerful CPUs or overclocking. If you have a standard i3 or i5 that isn't an overclocked K model and doesn't need extra X features, it might not even need those extra connectors. For something like this, I'd start by checking running processes in Task Manager, looking at Event Viewer/Reliability History, temps from the monitor, free space on your hard drive and other things like that. It could also be a problem with ping or internet traffic depending on what time of day you are playing. Of course, I am just making fun words while we don't know exactly what you are using (hint hint).
Yeah, that was my fault I totally forgot about this issue sorry! My ping is stable low and I have zero packet loss today. Maybe game servers? Before I played fine every single hour of the day too. Also, tests latency and other stuff always gave good results. That's why it seemed weird my pc still has issues. Mobo only has an 8pin. Doesn't have the extra 4pin (8pin + 4pin). Thanks for your reply!
I'm playing at my screen's native resolution with a refresh rate of 240 hz, so gsync and vsync are both turned off. On Valorant, I get an average frame rate of about 300 to 400 fps. I have the Alienware AW2518HF. Some people have had similar problems; others have fixed them by hiring technicians to optimize their PCs. Since I can't afford those services right now, that's my worst-case scenario for now. Tomorrow I'll just play and hope everything is fine. It might actually be solved already.
I think you could try making the game run at a slower speed cap and check your sync settings to stop the shaking or stutter. The mouse lag is still confusing to me, but maybe using anti-aliasing (like vsync) on 60 frames with low quality will help keep things smooth. Just playing around it to see if that stops the jitter.
