I highly recommend a new installation. Any other option risks causing significant long-term issues. Unless you have prior experience with this process—which seems improbable based on your post—my suggestion is to adhere to DSzymborski's advice.

They're just shifting the settings a bit, which usually isn't an issue since the app will still find them. If the existing files aren't compatible—because the program might have undergone a significant update recently—these settings won't be applied.
