What memory should i buy
32gb should suffice for what I aim to achieve. I believe I wouldn’t need more, but I want improved performance in games and quicker editing. My top priority is getting the best results. I understand that exceeding 3600MHz won’t help with the i9 9900K, but is a 3600MHz actually better for me compared to a 3200MHz?
Having more than 16gb often doesn’t improve performance in most games, especially if it’s slower. You seem uncertain about choosing the right amount of memory. The QVL list contains tested memory options and can help narrow down brands and types. It saves time by already accounting for timing details from engineers.
I found out that RAM is key for optimal performance. To decide which memory suits you best, consider your gaming needs and the balance between speed and cost. For higher FPS and smoother gameplay at higher resolutions, a 3600 18PB might be better if you need more power. The 3200 16PB could work well but may not match the performance of the 3600 in demanding scenarios.
MHz usually outperforms cas. They seem nearer than they actually are, though cas rises faster with higher MHz. Even if it were 3200 cas14, the difference wouldn’t change much—it stays consistent.
Could you boost their speed further? If I raise the 3200MHz setting, would that improve performance, and does increasing it in the opposite direction also help?
