Yeah, "priming" a new printhead is essentially just performing a few head cleanings. If your new printhead isn't working well, it might be defective. You can attempt this by taking out the printhead and cleaning all the electrical contacts on the printhead itself and in the printer's holder. A CLEAN common pink pencil eraser works well here—it's very mildly abrasive. Be sure to wipe or blow off any residue before putting the printhead back in.
Yes. It's possible you might have performed some contact cleaning during the initial installation of the replacement head, just by taking it out and putting it back in.
Thanks for finding that person I usually avoid from those manual sites... they seem pretty suspicious. I definitely wouldn’t use them on my Windows PC, but I’d feel okay on my phone.
Another suggestion came up. I discovered a video where someone shows how to use an ink head cleaning kit. It includes a cleaning solution and a syringe or hose set. You can use the syringe to push the solution through each colour part of the head separately, aiming to break up any dried ink residue inside and then drain it from the nozzles.
