What is the process for replacing the printhead in an inkjet printer?
I own an HP Officejet Pro 8025. Previously, the printing quality was poor with streaks, and even after cleaning the printhead, it didn’t improve. I swapped it out for another model, and everything worked well. The manual suggested cleaning the printhead to ensure good results, but since the quality was already satisfactory, I ignored that step. Now, a few months later, the print quality is again lacking with streaks, and cleaning the printhead hasn’t helped. My concerns are:
- Are third-party printheads as reliable as genuine HP ones?
- Did skipping the cleaning after replacement affect the outcome?
- Should I replace it again for better results?
Thank you as always. I trust the appropriate authorities will address this issue eventually—it's unacceptable to be forced to purchase a new HP printhead for a printer that's only two to three years old.
Perhaps you might be able to. Information from other sources or manufacturers could help. However, I would definitely not rely on something from Ali E. that seems questionable.
Laserjet seems like an ideal choice. Perhaps the printer's owner would allow me to try a different printhead for experimentation. How should I prepare a new printhead? Typically involves a few rounds of printhead cleaning.
