Instead of focusing on ARTS, which refers to ActionRealTimeStrategy—a term popular in the Dota 2 scene—people often use different labels. The idea is that for something to qualify as a sport, it should demand years of training, involve specialized abilities, support a thriving industry, and attract audiences who enjoy watching it. Just like Dota 2 or LoL, Sc2 is considered a competitive activity. If you’re dismissing it as mere entertainment, you might be viewing sport through a narrow lens. What matters is how people interpret and define it. Words evolve, so checking definitions online can help clarify the current understanding.
They match the same level as chess and are known as e Sports (vgs, not chess) to set them apart from games requiring physical exertion. You can maintain sportsmanship in video games, though they differ significantly from activities like tennis. It's similar to comparing cars and motorcycles—both are vehicles, but they function in distinct ways.
I understand your point, but it doesn't make sense for Sc to be considered an esport.
