ESports isn't a recognized concept from my perspective. The games that qualify as eSports don't exist (like Natural Selection 2), and those that don't fit the criteria are real. (LoL, SC)

Thanks for pointing that out. No need to act like that.

E-sports carries a rather negative reputation, similar to how many people refer to anyone who plays Moba or Multi-Player Online Battles. These terms essentially capture the essence of online games that involve competition and a controlled setting ranging from Code to LoL to WoW. Instead of focusing on ARTS, which refers to ActionRealTimeStrategy—a term popular in the Dota 2 scene—people often use different labels. The idea is that for something to qualify as a sport, it should demand years of training, involve specialized abilities, support a thriving industry, and attract audiences who enjoy watching it. Just like Dota 2 or LoL, Sc2 is considered a competitive activity. If you’re dismissing it as mere entertainment, you might be viewing sport through a narrow lens. What matters is how people interpret and define it. Words evolve, so checking definitions online can help clarify the current understanding.

They match the same level as chess and are known as e Sports (vgs, not chess) to set them apart from games requiring physical exertion. You can maintain sportsmanship in video games, though they differ significantly from activities like tennis. It's similar to comparing cars and motorcycles—both are vehicles, but they function in distinct ways.

I understand your point, but it doesn't make sense for Sc to be considered an esport.
