I explored many Linux resources and noticed your interest in daily drivers. Your preferred distribution might be something like Ubuntu, Fedora, or Arch, but I’m not sure of the exact one. The main issues could involve stability, support, or compatibility with your needs. You seem to prefer KDE, Gnome, or XFCE—let me know which you use and I can help!

I rarely rely on it, yet I depend on Linux Mint 17.3. I chose this version since I was raised with Linux Mint, and 17.3 holds my preference as the top choice.

Have you explored LMDE4? I find it really strong, especially with its recent updates and performance. It’s not fully adopted yet since it’s quite complex, requiring a workflow reset and re-customizing CSutomation.

I run Fedora 35 with the Gnome desktop on my laptop. I prefer this because of its strong stability (avoiding Arch-based options), the Intel integrated graphics which make Wayland appealing, and DNF as a top package manager. Everything runs smoothly without much configuration. The only drawback is that BTRFS is the default filesystem but lacks native snapshots—though it’s simple to enable with Snapper. Gnome works well for me since it’s both a 2-in-1 and provides excellent touch support. When I used it daily, KDE felt more familiar and functional, but on a laptop, Gnome performs very well.

I feel like I'm getting old... 17.3 was my favorite too. But I'm currently using 20.3 on most of my systems. I've tried many distros, PCLinuxOS lasted a while before they stopped using Gnome, and Mint has been reliable for a long time across different versions.

I experimented with various Linux distros and desktops long ago, but now I usually opt for the newest LTS version of Ubuntu MATE whenever possible. (Why MATE? Since GNOME 2 remains my top choice among major desktop environments and I’m just a lazy user.)

I'm interested in how mint is evolving toward a more minimalist look, moving away from the bold green accents while keeping the original identity intact. As someone who used it before, I feel the green highlight has faded slightly but still holds some significance.

I usually rely on Mint. It functions smoothly across various devices, and I’ve even changed my primary account to it temporarily.

I regularly test Gentoo across 17 local machines and 3 VPS setups on Linode. It’s not a hassle at all. I also use a home dedicated server to handle all package updates through distCC.
