I do have an NVIDIA GPU (840m), and I'm thinking about building a custom desktop setup. Just trying to avoid making mistakes by learning more before deciding. The main reason I'm leaning toward NVIDIA is for streaming games, and I've seen some info and videos that helped clarify things. I guess I was confusing the two concepts earlier!

This model doesn't make much sense; using your integrated graphics should suffice for simple visual tasks.

Before I share my perspective, this resolution is 780p...? That’s a lot! I assumed 1800x1200 was less common.
