It's not like this is going to happen tomorrow, the occasional indy (jones) game that requires RT will be the exception for quite a while.
Never forget that almost all games are being made for the consoles and have to run well there.
Even a card with bad RT will be fine for its normal life span.

What figures are you examining? As per Tom’s review, the average xt is outperforming the 5070. However, based on what I’ve learned, the xt is roughly 2% behind the 5070ti, though there’s a $150 difference between their MSRP.

I mean benchmarks do offer some level of objectivity. Once you enable RT, DLSS/FSR, frame generation, etc., the XT starts lagging behind the base 5070. As games become more demanding and require ray tracing, this gap grows even larger. If your goal is to run older or less demanding titles, it doesn’t make sense to purchase a GPU for this purpose. But if you still wish to do so, why are you opting for a card at this price when the 7900 XT is more affordable and has fewer VRAM requirements? Just consider buying a 7900 XT then.

Review the RT numbers then keep in mind they didn’t activate DLSS or frame generation.

I didn't have any problems with Amazon. I bought and then canceled orders for the 9070 XT several times. When I logged in, they were still available. I have a business account with them, though I'm not sure if that matters.
I'm still unsure which card to choose. Even though I don't hate Nvidia, I really prefer an RTX 5080.

I personally think DLS and frame generation are waste of resources if they're only there to outperform others. If it's just about native resolution, it's better to focus on that. If you need to lower the quality, upscale it instead of downgrading—this avoids issues with lighting, which is a problem with frame generation and DLS.

VS a 5080 completely depends on your preferences. I'm satisfied with my 7900 xtx right now. However, there are no significant problems with AMD's drivers—just a bit of lag behind in software updates compared to fsr and dlss. People have noticed improvements in this release, and when you weigh the price difference, it's ultimately up to you. The 9070xt is close to the 7900xtx in raster performance but excels in ray tracing.

I've noticed the same thing too. The 9070 XT is definitely a more attractive option, especially in certain games or situations. At the standard price, it's a clear choice.

9070 offers improved power efficiency, and with increased emphasis on these two cards, it should produce superior outcomes
