What an incredible launch for the RX 9070 XT today!
I began searching for an RX 9070 XT on Newegg and Amazon at 3:00AM Central time this morning. Both sites didn't list them until mid-morning, by which point they were already sold out. The comments about good stock and availability seemed like a joke. Clearly, the scalpers and their bots have drained the remaining cards for resale on Ebay. I'm really disappointed and angry about this.
All the initial releases over the past few years...did you anticipate a different outcome?
I had heard and read about many sources saying this launch would be unique...there was a lot of available stock. I even began searching for one at 3 AM Central time this morning to boost my odds of securing one at the MSRP or near it.
we had a lot available in the UK for a long time. by 5-8pm we were out of stock.
You're frustrated because you can't purchase a card that won't deteriorate further as more games are released, mainly due to its poor RT performance.
I understand the nearby Microcenter had items in stock for the initial hours. They likely still offered some premium aib choices and certain non-xt cards, but by this evening they were sold out.
In China there are no MSRP cards available. Right now I can purchase a $749 XFX flagship, and I'm thinking about whether to go ahead.
Benchmarks do offer some level of objectivity, but their usefulness diminishes quickly once advanced features are enabled. The performance drops noticeably after turning on RT, DLSS/FSR, or frame generation tools, causing the XT to lag behind the base 5070. As games become more demanding and ray tracing is introduced, this gap continues to grow. If you're only looking to play older or less demanding titles, purchasing a GPU in this price range might not be worthwhile.
