What about overclocking a 4790K?
What about overclocking a 4790K?
Actually, when I run the OCCT test, my computer crashes. But when I play games, everything is fine. Maybe this is just because I haven't tested it long enough yet. Anyway, I'll give you updates later. For now, my 4.5ghz overclocking works great!
If my PC doesn't crash while I play games, should I just leave the setting at 45? Right now, I've been up for almost two hours without any crashes happening. When I'm playing an intense CPU game, my temps are between 45 and 63 degrees. Hopefully, I am not overheating my processor.
That's exactly what I needed to find out! You guys are awesome, and your help was a huge plus for me. I can't say thanks enough! I hope you're doing well too, and thank you SO much for the assistance. I still have one more question though. If I want to go overclocking even faster, do I just need to change the 45 or switch it to either 46 or 47?
First, finish all the other steps from before to find the lowest safe voltage for 4.5GHz. Yes, turn up the multiplier to get a faster speed. Faster speeds need more power. Watch your heat too. Sometimes, getting extra volts to make the next jump work will just go up and up in a curve like a hill. Don't put more than 1.3V on it at any point.
