Welcome to Skyrim!
Welcome to Skyrim!
It was quite a rush, trying to find a game that wasn't too 'twitchy' and that allowed me to jump in and out easily. Yes, it isn't overly sensitive—just once I was attacked from behind, but I didn’t have the reflexes to escape. However, getting stuck for two hours (because A) I couldn’t save and B) got caught in a new world made things less certain. I’m not sure if I can return later without losing progress. At the start, everything felt a bit odd since I was only playing Flash games and didn’t realize how much I’d be spending time there.
The best method to save is by manually using the menu (esc) and selecting save. For quick saves before intense moments like boss fights, consider using mods soon—they really enhance the experience. Additionally, many players notice that you can press F to bookmark items, then Q to pick one quickly, and assign custom hotkeys for efficiency.
Considering a week (or up to a month) of playing vanilla and then modifying sounds like a solid approach. Sounds like a good plan!
Don't delay for mods unless you're ready to begin again soon. These recommendations are worth checking out: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/3863/, http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35154/, http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/3222/, and http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/44091/.
Here’s a concise version of your list:
Essential mods include SKSE, SkyUI, ENBoost, and unofficial patches. Add clothing/armor tweaks, SMIM, Skyrim optimization, and optimized textures. These enhance performance and fix bugs; SMIM boosts mesh quality (like 3D rope and chains) and SkyUI improves keyboard/mouse UI. I’ll add more suggestions later.
