Showed interest in the game upon its release but missed the opportunity. Now that it's free, I'm considering trying it out again. However, some online discussions mention hackers and suggest the developers aren't taking action. What are your thoughts on the game?

Because it's free, you should just jump in and give it a shot. I don't think I can support the game.

You need to give it a shot, it's not the same version you might recall.

The presence of hackers isn't necessary for enjoying the game if there are none in your match, just give it a try.
The strongest incentive to play is its current free status, with no compelling reasons not to engage.

Csgo is linked to cancer. Offering free play encourages more cheaters. I stopped playing csgo after Valve made it free to play.

A large amount of players cheat in CS GO both during casual games and in matches. To compete seriously, join FaceIt or ESEA.

I also enjoy classic Counter-Strike titles.

CSGO demands a tough exterior, strong focus, and teamwork skills. You must communicate clearly and concisely over the mic, remember key game elements like grenade spots and map knowledge, and rely on intuition. The game is heavily reliant on teamwork rather than individual effort—poor teamwork often leads to loss, but sometimes a lucky streak or skill can help.

CSGO is just enjoyable when played lightly, like in games such as Arms Race or a bad custom server. I find more fun with CS:Source.
