You're thinking carefully about your PC choices. It's good you're aware of privacy concerns, especially with Microsoft's updates. For Windows 10, consider prioritizing security features and regular updates to protect your system. If you're concerned about privacy, look into lightweight OS options or built-in security tools. Make sure to research each option thoroughly before deciding.

I really enjoy Windows 7 and won’t move to Windows 10 until the final stretch of its free release. The choice is yours, but eventually you’ll have to adopt Windows 10 unless you decide to try another operating system.

They've added many telemetry and naughtiness features to versions 8 and 7. Disabling them in Windows 10 is possible but less common on older systems. I prefer version 10 for its multi-desktop support and modern UI, though it can be quite buggy. My suggestion is to try version 7, upgrade if you like, and revert if not.

Windows 10 offers great productivity versus older versions, though it remains somewhat unstable.

Windows 10 is fine, but I’d really recommend a clean install. The upgrade caused problems, so I had to start from scratch.
