It's unusual that all the RAM SKUs tested and supported speeds with Asus B550-E, B550-XE and B550-F are 4000MHz or higher. Why would that be? The ideal range is typically 3600-3800MHz for Zen 2 and 3, with 4000MHz being the sweet spot. At 2000MHz effective for DDR, it's common to see 1:1 2000MHz FCLK on Zen 3, but it's often hit or missed. Even speeds above 3200MHz aren't officially JEDEC spec, though 3600MHz works universally with all Zen 2 and 3 IMCs.

Are you certain those speeds apply to a 2R setup? It seems more suited for a 1R. I handle well above 4000 with 1R, but struggle to reach 4000 on 2R, and I haven’t exceeded it yet.

They appear in the S/S configuration for nearly every model. What I meant to say is that I’m confident D and DS modules operate at 3800MHz or less, yet they’re missing from QVL for those boards. Would Asus not restrict sticks below 4000MHz in QVL for B550-E/F/XE? That’s not proper testing standards. It’s not typical for most buyers to purchase 4000MHz or higher sticks, especially when the Ryzen 3000/5000 series IMC doesn’t consistently hit 2000MHz with stability. Unlike the standard, where 1800MHz is widely accepted and works across nearly all Ryzen 5000 CPUs and even many 3000 models, the situation here is different. DDR4 3600MHz is essentially around 1800MHz SDR, which is the norm we all understand.

I’m not sure. I looked at the QVL on both boards to check if my RAM would work. Both sets are in the -F QVL, but I don’t remember the XE. Having both is good—XE seems better. I also watched a BZ video about it, but he couldn’t get past 3866 with 2R. It might have been his hardware not syncing well, but I think I reached 4000, not a perfect match. My boards are both 3200C14.

There are no widespread complaints about mismatched speeds, and it's generally considered optimal for stability across different chips. AMD gave a promise of 4000/2000, but it didn't materialize. The 5000 series was also a lie. My 8700k from 2017 runs my XMP profile at 4267mhz with cl19-19-19. This setup uses a 16GB 1R b-die memory. AMD loses performance when using uncoupling pins, and it isn't popular for memory overclocking. (High frequency 4000mhz is an improvement.)
