Valve has revealed an upcoming Half-Life VR experience.
Valve has revealed an upcoming Half-Life VR experience.
Today, Valve Software, creator of popular titles like Half-Life, Counter-Strike, and Dota 2, has not only created an official (verified) twitter account, but made their first post an announcement of their new "flagship VR game," Half-Life: Alyx.
There's been a ton of speculation on the what this game will be about, but no concrete announcements have been made except for the title, and a promise to officially unveil the game this Thursday at 10am Pacific time.
My thoughts in a nutshell:
THANK GOD VALVE CREATES A GAME FEATURING A GUN
really exhausted from the focus on Dota and silly card games, TF2 is my top pick. I enjoy Half-Life and Portal too, and even though I don't like CS:GO much, it's still a good game. More shooter titles would be great!
Spoiler
spoiler alert: It's just Alyx relaxing at home. Valve tricks everyone.
I believe the "flagship VR game" and "VR demo" will be quite distinct offerings.
I'm really looking forward to this. It would definitely tempt me to play it at work in a teasing way.
Hmm, really think about it—calling something unseen a waste of time is just a strong opinion. Maybe we should wait and see what happens.
It's interesting to think about how many individuals might choose to purchase a headset due to it.
I'm really happy I received my Windows MR headset recently for just around $140.
They seem to focus on demonstrating the game's capabilities rather than building trust with fans in recent times.
