Otherwise, everything is fine as long as Op chooses to proceed; I’ve used Etcher on a Mac before, which gave me confidence in this situation. (A very old, unsupported system where bootcamp wasn’t available)

You're welcome! It doesn't affect the process at all. You can proceed with any size flash drive you prefer, as long as it meets your system requirements. The ISO download should work regardless.
