It looks unclear. This might seem odd after installing the Hangouts extension, especially since it doesn’t operate in the background.

The issue persists on both your Windows 8 laptop with Chrome in desktop mode and your Windows 7 desktop. The taskbar icon in the bottom right stays hidden even when Chrome is active, and it takes a long time to open after closing. I’m not sure what to do next.
