I recently purchased a new setup featuring an ROG STRIX Z270-I GAMING and Corsair H115i platinum. The motherboard only provides one USB 3 internal connector and one USB 3.1 internal connector. The AIO cooler requires a micro-USB connection, but the available adapter is USB 2, which doesn’t match the USB 3 headers physically. I need a straightforward USB 3/3.1 internal header that connects to a micro-USB port, without needing many bulky adapters. Since my space for cables is limited (Phanteks ENTHOO EVOLV SHIFT X), any advice would be very helpful.
Check the top-left corner of the board—it's likely an internal USB-C port.
Yes, there isn't a direct USB 3.1/3.0 to micro USB connection available, unless you use adapters in between.
It's a Micro USB to USB-C adapter. I require a USB 3.1 to Micro USB version. I want to link directly from the motherboard into the AIO pump. Picture all items in the pictures connected together here.
I own another Corsair unit using the same cable. The USB 2.0 connector (four pins) connects to the motherboard for data transfer. The Micro USB fits into the slot of the Corsair AIO pump. Your motherboard includes USB 2.0 connectors. If you don’t already have any, a header splitter would be necessary. I’m curious whether you’ve filled all the USB ports on that board and what method you used.
