USB C available on my "Predator Helios 300"
I'm checking the USB C connection on my laptop. While updating my graphics driver, I noticed a question about what USB C does and whether it's Thunderbolt.
I believed only Thunderbolt ports could serve as a display connection.
Yes, you can send output via the USB-C port to another display device.
Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-53-57VP features an Intel Core i5-10300H chipset, 8GB DDR4 RAM, a 1TB hard drive paired with a 256GB NVMe SSD, a 15.6-inch FHD display (1920x1080, IPS, 144Hz), NVIDIA RTX2060 graphics with 6GB GDDR6 VRAM, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth support, HD webcam, USB3.2 Type-C port, HDMI output, and runs on Windows 10.
It doesn't appear this device includes Thunderbolt via search results. However, as mentioned by @Levent, using alt-mode might also provide display functionality. The safest approach is to consult the manual for details or try a USB-C to HDMI or DP adapter.
Testing is typically the most reliable approach because manufacturers rarely specify compatibility. You might discover forum conversations about support, but for devices with confusing model names, determining if a match is feasible becomes more challenging.
