I'll start adjusting the headers and check the flow. Should I fully detach the caps or leave them in place? It's not easy to decide whether to break them off completely or let them stay. Since I can't visit a store nearby, what would you suggest doing if you fix it yourself? I assume you should first take out the part.

It’s a relatively simple procedure, but I recommend trying it on a damaged board first. If you’re not confident, look for someone experienced with soldering.

I’m sure about soldering or desoldering, but I wasn’t sure about resoldering the same cap with the broken pin. It broke cleanly at the base. Should I reattach the pin? Would the cap become excessively hot during the process?

I recommend choosing a fresh option—it’s simpler to handle on your own. Will you be using the header? If not, skip the re-soldering.

I’m pretty certain I won’t need them again. I’m not sure if it’s risky to leave them unfinished, but I believe I’ll just remove the solder (they might still drop), clean the openings, and try it out.

Ensure the left USB header fingers are properly separated before proceeding, as this could damage the board's USB controller. The right cap appears to have a broken leg, while the left one seems intact—consider pushing it back or disregarding it for testing. Also, note the header labeled JT1 to the left, which may have bent pins and requires attention. The main issue is likely the right cap, which can be fixed with available tools.

Thanks for the guidance. I plan to start tomorrow by repositioning the USB headers and then removing the caps. If everything works without the caps, I’ll likely skip further steps since I don’t intend to use the device anymore.

I noticed the caps in several spots you mentioned, even though they shouldn't normally impact other areas. It seems they might influence the SB section of the board, not just USB features as I initially thought.

Are you aware of the methods to locate a suitable alternative? Besides capacitance and voltage, it’s unclear what other factors to consider, and the caps you discovered were larger in size compared to those on the board.

When the leg pattern (spacing) matches, larger physical sizes don’t cause issues. As long as the capacitance and voltage remain consistent, it’s the main concern. If they fit without affecting nearby components, it works fine—even if it looks unusual in place. These are typical specifications for solid caps; just remove them and use them effectively.
